The Shaping Demand and Practices (SDP) project targeted eight districts in Bihar with a clear mandate to scale up successful communication solutions to the rest of the state, this would be done by leveraging partnerships with government, private sector and civil society. Intervention areas in the state of Bihar were used as “laboratories’” in order for learning from tested approaches to be extended across India’s vast and diverse geography.

Bihar, accordingly, led the way for our mHealth and other interpersonal communication (IPC) tools to reach an unprecedented scale of not only impacting frontline health workers (FLWs) performance and family health practices in Bihar, but across the rest of India.
