In November 2013, BBC Media Action received the UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) Laadli National Creative Excellence Awards for Social Change.
According to the UNFPA, these awards “encourage work that helps remove gender bias in Indian society, as exhibited in pre-natal sex selection”.
