In December 2013, the Ananya Programme won the ‘mHealth Alliance Collaboration Award’ at the mHealth Summit in Washington DC.
The mHealth Alliance is an organization dedicated to promoting the use of mobile technologies for improving health in developing countries.
The award was in recognition for the work done by several NGO partners in the Ananya programme: BBC Media Action, CARE, World Health Partners, the Grameen Foundation, and Dimagi.
Ananya won the prestigious award for its partners’ contributions to improving the delivery of maternal and child health information and services to families living beyond the reach of formal health facilities.
The project was selected for “its strong model of integrated approaches aimed at achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals related to maternal and child health”.
The mHealth Alliance lauded the Ananya partnership’s effective strategy – described as a “groundbreaking model” for scaling healthcare in Bihar.
